Nedlaw Story

The Science behind Nedlaw Living Walls indoor air biofilter had its start back in 1994 at the Controlled Environment Systems research facility at the University of Guelph, in Ontario Canada.  Early research was funded by the Ontario Center of Excellence (OCE) and by the European and Canadian Space agencies. The group gained worldwide recognition for their use of biological systems to improve indoor air quality.

In 2001, after his first award of the Martin Walmsley Fellowship, Dr. Alan Darlington, a researcher on the project, commercialized the product of this research through the company, Air Quality Solutions. The first Living Wall was installed in 2004 as the showpiece of the University of Guelph - Humber.   In 2008, Air Quality Solutions merged with the Nedlaw Group to form Nedlaw Living Walls. Since 1988, the Nedlaw Group has expanded from its roots with Nedlaw Roofing Ltd. to include Nedlaw Living Roofs.

Nedlaw Living Walls has successfully installed active Living Wall Biofilters in Canada in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia.  In the United States, successful installations have been undertaken in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Illinois, New Mexico, Oregon, and California.  (Interest in the Nedlaw Living Wall is also coming from several European countries as well as several from Asia)

Nedlaw Living Walls has truly become the world leader in delivering clean air, naturally.
